How to show practical work beyond Security+

Security+ tells an employer you know the concepts. It doesn't show them what you do with a log file, a firewall rule set or a suspicious email. This guide covers how to close that gap with work they can check.

Pick tasks that match the job you want

Entry-level security roles spend their time on log review, alert triage, access reviews and hardening. Choose practice that looks like that work, not more multiple-choice questions. In a HashFolio drill you work through realistic logs and files in a terminal: you run the commands, find the answer and explain your decision.

Record the reasoning, not only the result

A correct answer on its own says little. A hiring manager wants to see how you got there: which commands you ran, what you ruled out and why you made the call. HashFolio records the commands you run and the reasoning you write down.

Give them something they can verify

A line on a resume is a claim. When you finish a HashFolio drill, the record is signed with a server-side key and gets its own hashfolio.ai/verify link that anyone can open without an account. If anything in the record changes after signing, the verify page shows it.

Try it with a Security+ drill

Firewall Rule Creation - Brute Force Response is a Security+ drill. The SOC has caught a brute-force SSH attack against a DMZ web server. You count the attack traffic in the firewall logs, find the three attacking IPs and write the iptables rules to block them.
